See and Be Seen for Safety

The image above says it all. Even if you don't have cracks or chips in your windshield, it's critical to see and be seen.  Thankfully, the quality and technology related to automobile wipers and lighting has never been better.

Automotive engineers are certainly doing their part in creating more light with less power. And do you remember when you had to change windshield wipers constantly because they wore out so quickly? That has changed, too. But we can't just rely on better technology and products. Staying safe means a responsible driver needs to also do their part.

You never know when you will really need them, so it's important to take a bit of time to make sure that your exterior lights and your windshield wipers are in good shape and operate correctly. Here are some simple, but very effective tips that our Denver auto glass service has collected over the years:

Keep your tail-lights and head-lights clean. This might seem awfully obvious, but it's something that many people overlook and come to regret. Mud, dirt, and other debris can radically reduce the light given off by these devices and make it harder for you to see or be seen.

We recommend that you have your headlights' alignment checked periodically to make sure they are aimed correctly. At that time, have the person doing the check also check your headlights and taillights to make sure the bulbs are not burned out or getting close to being burned out.

Be sure to replace your windshield wipers once a year - or even sooner if they fail to cleanly clear all the water off your windshield. Plus, if you see the rubber on the wipers start to tear, immediately replace them.
